BeSafe iZi Kid i-Size car seat

BeSafe iZi Kid i-Size car seat

I guess my daughter was little above average in hight as I had to start thinking about 1+ car seat sooner than I though I would have to. At 6-7 months it was not looking good as she just kept getting closer with top of the head to the “must switch car seat line” aka she was nearing top of the seat. Luckily I was given little more time when next growth spurt was focused on her legs, so I had time to research the subject. I was stunned to see that experts were shouting to keep children rear facing until age 4, but in my country we usually turn them around when they’re 9-12 months. It makes sense when you think how bigger is children’s head compared to the rest of their body. Of course that puts more strain on their neck in case of a car accident way more than it does to adults.

I started to research available rearfacing car seats for children and quickly found out that there are not that many of them available in Slovenia or any of the neighboring countries. My top pick of rear facing car seats for my 10 month old daughter were:

  • Cybex Sirona (loved the swivel function and little one looked comfortable in it)
  • Römer/Britax Dualfix (unfortunately my little one wasn’t good fit for this seat)
  • Maxi Cosi 2wayPearl
  • BeSafe iZi Kid i-Size

In the end I chose and bought BeSafe iZi Kid i-Size car seat. Mainly due to the fact that I decided to go for the car seat with the i-Size standard which left me with 2wayPearl and iZi Kid I-Size to chose from. And as BeSafe cames with very good reclining position which allows my darling to sleep comfortably in it, it was an easy call.
